Is it true that ladies love a pickup man? From Kip Moore’s 2012 chart topper “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” to Joe Diffie’s ’90s hit “Pickup Man,” pickup trucks have been the subject of dozens of country songs for decades. On top of that, every February, Super Bowl ads feature all of the major truck brands scaling rocky landscapes or working hard on the job site. This leaves no doubt that a man’s man drives a truck.
But, why are men so eager to get their hands on a set of pickup keys and why are women attracted to the men that drive these trucks? Could owning a truck really improve your chances with the ladies? Read on to find out.
What Women Want
Women are most attracted to men who drive black Ford pickup trucks, with Chevrolet close behind, according to a survey issued by Insure.com. In fact, the study found that 32 percent of the 1,000 women surveyed preferred trucks to sports cars and other cars. Nearly half of the women surveyed say that cleanliness is the most important quality of the vehicle. On the other hand, major turnoffs include trash on the interior, cigarette butts in the ashtray and loud music playing.
What Your Vehicle Says About You
According to the personal advice website Keen, men who drive pickup trucks are characteristically community minded and family oriented. They also state that these types of men enjoy fixing things around the house and have strong, solid opinions about the world they live in. Plus, owning a vehicle manufactured in America represents a relationship with women that’s based on freedom and trust.
Unlike men who drive trucks, Keen claims male sedan drivers are the conformists of the world and male hybrid drivers have a complex about always being right.
Where to Get a Truck
The most popular full-size pickup trucks of 2015 are the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, GMC Sierra 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, according to U.S. News. So, if you’re ready to ditch your old clunker and upgrade to a four-wheel drive to get more dates, start your truck search by visiting DriveTime online. DriveTime is the nation’s largest auto dealer, and it’s easy to get financed and search for vehicles. Take a look at its inventory online, and then, stop in at a dealership to pick up your new set of wheels.
Where to Take Your Date in Your Truck
Once you have your new truck, plan a romantic date night to really wow your new lady. Take your special someone stargazing, and create a cozy setup in your truck bed with blankets and pillows. Bring along a bottle of sparkling cider or champagne and a sweet desert for a night of cuddling and chatting under the stars.
Or, consider spending the twilight hours watching the sun set. Take your special lady to a local scenic area and spend the evening watching the sun as it goes down. You can pack a picnic-style dinner and enjoy each other’s company in the back of your truck.
