Impress Your Date With Your Culinary Skills

After my divorce to my French Chef husband, who did all the cooking, I realized that I’d better master a couple of dishes if I was going to be on the dating scene again. After all, I couldn’t just expect men to keep taking me out to dinner. I wanted to reciprocate with a nice home cooked meal once in a while. My favorite dish to make is a sure winner as well as fast and easy. I still fall back on it all the time, it is my husband’s favorite as well.

Broiled or baked salmon, sauteed spinach or steamed vegetable, side of rice or a sweet potato cooked in the microwave.

Just take a filet of salmon, put it on a piece of foil, sprinkle with a bit of olive oil and sea salt. I also like to sprinkle some dried dill. Pop in the oven at 375 until done. Depending on the size of the filet, it could take 15-25 minutes. I like my fish well done. The broiler is even faster.

Saute some fresh spinach, or get your steamer out and throw some fresh asparagus or snap peas in and in ten minutes you have a nice healthy veggie to serve.

I like sweet potatoes, there is nothing easier than popping it whole into the microwave. A large one takes about 12 minutes.

Open a bottle of wine, light a candle and voila! You are one impressive hostess!!!
